Lots of tee stores make movie mock-ups tributes,etc. Waterloo (or more precisely I Love Waterloo) has dedicated pretty much their entire collection to great movies from across the planet.
I loved the fact that they did not limit themselves to mainstream English movies but managed to capture a lot of great foreign flicks like Amelie, Pan's Labyrinth, etc in vintage styled designs.
The tees are all mostly two-color chinos prints and are a steal at 20 bucks a piece. Check out more of their fantastic collection on their online store.

Relive American History With Retro Campaigns

Most tee sites have a theme for the week/month/season,etc but not Retro Campaigns.They are wholly based on American political history featuring every prominent president from FDR to Clinton.
Most of the tees especially the JFK, Reagan and Teddy R's tees are masterfully done in its respective era's design and fashion bringing with it an air of authenticity. Some others however, especially the typography is a bit too clean and fails to capture that authentic feel. Hopefully, they will expand their line to cover more grounds in US history.

Verde Styles prides itself on being an eco-friendly tee store. Each shirt has a different meaning behind it to help promote awareness about environmental issues such as the oil spill, The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, recycling, etc. Their awareness program doesn't stop with pretty tees, Verde Styles also promises to plant a tree for every tee bought from their store.

T Shirt site Young Lovers released a couple of limited edition tees. Their collection is inspired from

the classics with cues taken from the gritty streets of New York. They have some pretty sweet looking vector-design tees, though a tad pricey. My personal favourites are the Beethoven-Dylan and Rats tees.

Also, they are giving you the chance to score three T-shirts (of your choosing) with the "Like Lovers in the night" competition. All you have to do is head over to their Facebook page and just click the 'Like' button on the tees you want to win and you're done! Free tees if you get lucky!

Here's another indie store(yet to launch), Oneiroi Apparel. The store has a limited but promising line of 2-3 colour prints.Pretty good artwork on their tees, especially the Simba tee is very well done, considering that they have limited colours to work with. Not much to speak about this as the full catalog and store will be launched in January. If you want to ring in the new year with their cool range of tees be sure to subscribe to their newsletter!

Scared Panda is a tiny yet remarkable tee store started by travel aficionados, Clint and Kate. Their tee graphics reflect their experiences of various cultures they have encountered.

We started Scared Panda because we wanted to create something. We love to travel and learn about new cities and cultures and we love t-shirts so starting a t-shirt company that shares unique perspectives of different cities just made sense. Some of the best things we’ve discovered in life have been a result of changing the way we see things. Wayne Dyer said, “When you change the way you see things, the things you see change.” To us, that’s what life is all about, changing, learning, discovering. We hope, with these t-shirts, to spread a little bit of that around.

RadCakes, an apparel website where everything is designed and silk screened by hand in-house.Their designs have two things in common, they are all inspired by ocean related themes and LSD induced, which from past experience, is always a good thing.
The RadCakes' design is quite deviant from the usual tees featured here. Though most of their designs use limited colors, they make use of it in the best possible ways. Other than tees, they house an array of products ranging from hoodies to custom keds. The keds especially caught my eye. Though a tad pricey( hey, custom-made ain't cheap!), they are very well made. RadCakes have a lot of potential for designing trendy beach wear. Set up a store in sunny Cali and you'd make a killing!

In what is probably a weird coincidence, I was watching 12 Monkeys just before I found this on my twitter. And judging by OMUNKY Apparel's clothing line munkeys do look good on tees.
I particularly like the above tee, the blank tee's colour, the simple design, the placement all adds up to a great tee. Way too many people nowadays are trying to cram a Van Gogh into a t shirt. And all the simple designs tend to sneak in the stores logo in a not so subtle way.

Review : Labyrinth Clothing

You'll probably recall that I posted about a free t-shirt giveaway by Labyrinth Clothing a week ago, now here's a complete low down about Labyrinth behind the scene! Also upcoming will be a slew of indie clothing review spree, so bear with me!

Labyrinth Clothing is as indie as you can get, it's run by just one person only and he does a great job of it. Nader Boraie, the man behind Labyrinth, started out just like every kid on 4chan did, making wallpapers, etc and gradually got into tee design.

Labyrinth aims to design affordable, unique, and creative shirts. This isn't just the store's PR talking, Labyrinth does offer very affordable tees, starting from $3! Yup, and they are all American Apparel Tees, if you are wondering about the quaility. Also, along with your tees comes a handful of freebies like pins,stickers and badges! Labyrinth also recently launched their fall collection.

This one is probably my favourite tee on the site. It portrays Boraie's potential for very artsy, distinct and conspicious designs. Just dislike the fact that it store logo is bang in the middle of it. Labyrinth would do very well if it puts up more designs that does not have the logo as the paramount theme. Same hitch with the cute dinos t shirt.
But where it does depict the stores logo it does so very well.

Labyrinth Clothing is a small store, and comparing it to powerhouses like Threadless and DBH is unfair. It's a great place to go for for very cheap, yet different from the run-of-the-mill tees. It's definitely a store worth watching out for.
